Getting Started with Vanpooling

1. Give Vanpooling a Try - BATMA understands vanpooling may not be for everyone and that sometimes a “trial run” may be necessary to determine if vanpooling is the right alternative commute option for you.  Thus, we allow all new potential vanpoolers to try a vanpool that is currently in operation for two days to see if it is indeed a viable option for you. 2.   Request a ridematch - If you cannot find a vanpool that is currently in operation that works for you on the Vanpools in Operation map, you can find someone who works and lives near you with the same schedule by requesting a free ridematch through RideSmart.

3.   Start Your Own Vanpool – You can start a new van at anytime with seven riders, a volunteer primary driver, and a volunteer alternate driver. Consider becoming a primary driver of a new van and your commute will be free!  BATMA provides a fully subsidized commute for primary drivers.  Contact Scott at scott@batma.org or 404-842-2685 to get started today!
